History with THPRD

I have so much personal history with THPRD, and my love for the district grew as a result. Here are a few highlights over the years.

  • Took multiple classes there as a kid: swimming, martial arts, gymnastics and ballet

  • Played soccer on their fields, many a rainy day spent at “powerlines”

  • Attended summer camp as a pre-teen

  • Safety Town Instructor as a teenager

  • First Job: Camp Counselor at age 16

  • High school graduation party at the Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex

  • Through my work with Hands On Greater Portland have volunteered at the Tualatin Hills Nature Park as part of a “Discovering Washington County” series I created over a summer

  • Regularly exercise at Cooper Mountain and the Tualatin Hills Nature Park
  • While serving on the board I have participated in several classes at the nature center including “brews and bees” and “beginner mushroom identification”
